about
Matte Juno is finally back after making a name for himself on the Norwegian indie scene with the irresistible summer hit «August» in 2022. After releasing the EP "Blue" that same summer, spending his time in a sailboat, and focusing on creating new songs, Mathias Haukjem returns with the equally immediate «Someday Soon».
In recent years, a new and exciting music scene has emerged in Bergen, Norway, with names like Michelle Ullestad, Goofy Geese, Bo Milli, and Most Likely Marlin being some of the prominent figures. Matte Juno walks the same streets as all these artists, sharing rehearsal space, stages, and band members with the entire community. With his relaxed vibe and good sense of melody, it's a pleasant journey to follow Matte Juno and his delightful pop songs.
«Someday Soon» is the first single from an EP set to be released in April, and in familiar style, we are served bangers with lofty synths, tight basslines, and catchy, warm melodies. The theme of most of Matte Juno's songs revolves around life in the city, stress, money, routines, and how we constantly strive around all these factors to achieve the most optimal life. It explores how to handle everyday life and that the 9-to-5 lifestyle may not be for everyone.
As Mathias himself says: Above all, I think the EP is about the desire to escape from the city, acquire a small farm where one is not as dependent on material things, where one can write songs about milking cows and collecting eggs.

wake up in the evening
its raining all morning
worry about the money cause someday soon he will
wake up in the morning forget about the money get some peace and quiet
for him and his honey
wake up in the evening
its raining all morning
worry about the money cause someday soon he will
wake up in the morning forget about the money get some peace and quiet for him and his honey
